Megan & Brent’s Madison WI Engagement

couples

I really just want to let this session speak for itself because I’m not sure my words can do all the fun any justice. Megan and Brent are kind, very fun and truly up for anything. I enjoyed shooting their session and hanging out with them so much. Cannot wait for their June barn wedding — they have amazing style. But like I said, I’ll let the images do the talking now.

Megan & Brent, thanks for being a wedding photographer’s dream come true! See you again soon.

Tamara & Mike’s Middleton Pheasant Branch Engagement

couples

Tamara and Mike are so nice … and adventurous. They willingly agreed to jump up on a sticky dumpster, and then before I even got a shot … the dumpster CAVED IN. I was ready for some words or glares … but they just laughed. That’s when I knew they were pretty great.

It was a dreary weather day until the last half hour of our session at Pheasant Branch. The sun broke through the clouds and it was gorgeous. Loved it so much I couldn’t stop exclaiming. Thanks for being such good sports, Tamara and Mike. Can’t wait for your July wedding!

PS — I love the way Mike looks at Tamara. So sweet.

Lizzy

portraits

Lizzy is completely lovely. Beautiful inside and outside … confident yet gracious. She’s one of those people who really appreciates other people and is wonderful to be around.

I shot Lizzy and Scottie’s wedding when I was *just* starting as a photographer, back in August 2009. They somehow trusted me to capture their day before I even had a couple weddings under my belt (and before meeting me). They’re laid-back and amazing like that. In a few weeks they’ll be adding another little boy or girl to their family and I couldn’t be happier for them.

Here are a few from my session with Lizzy (total trooper, by the way. It was about 50 degrees and windy (felt like 20 degrees, imo) and she went barefoot into Lake Mendota).

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined Disclaimer: This is my first and last maternity session. I adore Lizzy and her baby bump, but right now I’m not looking to expand my business into yet another direction :)

Maria & Clay’s Riverbend Wedding in Kohler, WI

weddings

Maria and Clay were married at one of Wisconsin’s most beautiful locations. Inside and outside — it all looked perfect. But you could have stripped all the pretty “things” away and this wedding still would have been so beautiful. Maria and Clay are a million shades of fun, super laid-back, caring, sweet, kind and smart. They have a remarkable love for each other and they were surrounded by more love than I could almost handle on their wedding day.

Filled with Swedish tradition (cannons firing, singing, dancing, table-pounding), this wedding was one of a kind. It’s one of those weddings, that as a photographer, you want to shoot over and over again.

Thank you so so much, Maria and Clay. It was truly an honor to be part of your day.  See you in a week for your engagement-turned-day-after-session :)

Amber & BJ’s Green Bay Engagement

couples

I’ve missed shooting engagements. This past weekend in Green Bay was still a little cold for my tastes, but Amber and BJ were an awesome couple to kick-off another season of shooting outdoors with. We started at their favorite vegan restaurant, found a shopping cart randomly in a parking lot, and then headed out to Bairds Creek.  The sun and wind were perfection … glowy and fierce.

Amber and BJ are foodies and football fans, which I kinda think is the perfect combination and maybe how I’d even describe myself.  I definitely lost a bit of my voice singing to THIS SONG on repeat for the entire 5 hours I spent in the car to and from Green Bay.  I have a girl crush on the keyboardist.

And HERE is a sweet little blog post by one of my favorite florists about my new branding :)
