I know, I know … it’s no secret by now that I’m in love with untraditional barn/farm weddings with creative details and artistic flair. Add a couple that is willing to have fun in front of my camera … well, I’m in heaven. So it’s safe to say that Pink & Ian’s wedding made me smile a lot.
Pink and Ian were married at Country Pleasures Bed & Breakfast and their entire day blended traditions from rural Wisconsin and Indonesia. I loved the handmade elements, Pink’s amazing dress, the personal ceremony and the beauty of the country landscape.
Thanks, Pink & Ian. I hope your travels back to Singapore are safe and that you’ll forever be as happy as you obviously are right now. Congrats!

I usually shoot weddings alone, but for Pink & Ian’s wedding I had the absolute pleasure of flying out my amazing friend, Gladys Jem, to second shoot with me. We had a blast shooting together and decided we should become a Madison/San Francisco friend photo team ;) At one point before the cake cutting I turned back and found Gladys drowning in a sea of DSLRs. I thought this look was priceless.

LOVE them…and I’m absolutely IN LOVE with the pitchfork pictures!!! And Gladys, your look is priceless! xoxo girlies!
LOVE these, another amazing wedding and what a beautiful couple! what is your secret to finding couples that fit your style? you sure do find the right ones! BEAUTIFUL work again!
Looks like such a fun wedding! I’m sure you and Gladys had a blast together, too. Such an adorable (and fun) couple! Those pitch fork photos were my faves. Nice work!
Okay, seriously. EVERY time I come to your blog I am more and more blown away. Thank you for amazing me with every new post. Gorgeous!
Oh my gosh, LOVE THESE! the american gothic spoof was perfect. love them all!
ahh So cute!!! I love that shot of Gladys. I’m totally busting up right now! The portraits are my fav :) I love that couple and I don’t even know them :)
@Dani: My best advice is to be 100% honest about what you like and what you do and don’t do. Since I began shooting weddings last year, I have been upfront in every client meeting about what I like to shoot and what I would rather not spend my day doing. The clients who want what I have to offer … choose me because of that. I write and speak passionately about what I love. Don’t be afraid of losing potential clients because you are honest about what you like and don’t like to shoot. It’s worth it to lose a few in turn for loving all of your clients every week. I truly love my clients and look forward to working with all of them. Hope that helps! Feel free to email me too :)
BAHAHAHA Mr. G11!
1. Oh Anda, it was the best time shooting with you. You are the best person to shoot with no doubt! I had so much fun laughing, shooting, and everything else with you. Thanks for an amazing time this weekend! FAVE ;)
2. Seeing you shoot and the images you capture afterward is awesome. You are such an incredibly artistic photographer! I might be biased, but I think this is my fav wedding of yours ever :) LOVE pink and ian!

I totally missed the memo that you got a new blog!! I love it! And I’m subscribing to your feed NOW! Well done on this wedding. :) I’m shooting one this weekend and I’m a little nervous but so excited!! Do you use an on camera flash only? If so, which one? The lighting is awesome! Thanks. :)
gorgeous. you gals definitely make a great team. love the candids of gladys! hahahaha!
gorgeous couple!!! beautiful job!
@Samantha: Hey, I’ve missed you here ;) Your first wedding? Exciting! Outdoors, I never use flash … I find a way to work with natural reflectors or I just embrace the full sun and try all sorts of lens flare/artsy stuff, which I adore. Indoors I usually slave an external flash on a lightstand or on the DJ’s speaker. I have a 580EX II and a 480EX speedlight. The 580EX goes right on my camera and sometimes I bounce and sometimes I aim straight on my subject (which I did for this wedding because lots of people had cameras and their flashes were messing up my exposure all evening). The 480EX goes on a lightstand and I set it to the same channel as the first flash, but as a “slave.” With Canon’s infrared system, the slave reads the master flash (the one on my camera) and triggers automatically when I hit the shutter. If your subject is in front of the slave flash, you get gorgeous rim lighting, which I love and always try to place myself in the right position for this. If other people at your wedding have DSLRs with fancy flashes, be careful. You might need to change the channel on your flashes for them to work properly. Other people’s flashes were triggering my own flash at this wedding, so I had to fight to get the perfect shot at the right time. Hope that helps!! You can always email me too, of course :)
um. seriously? CASHTON???? I live IN cashton. how is it I have never heard of this lovely place for weddings. And so sad I didn’t know you where up this way……not that you had any time for anything but the wedding I am sure. It is another absolutely AMAZING wedding! I am another huge fan of the ones of the bride twirling in that gorgeous light!
The sunshine photos, Anda? Amazing.
My mouth is agape, and I can’t help it.
